What we pour for you

Six jobs, one set of drawings

Preparation, steel and drainage never leave the sheet; only the surface changes, and you pick that off the sample boards at the measure.

Stone selectionSealedNon-slip

Decorative stone finishes for Croydon driveways, patios and paths, picked from boards held against your own brickwork and sealed once cured for colour and grip.

Poured to the line

The line comes first

Concrete only sits level if a level is set before the truck arrives. Pegs, stringline, formwork checked against it, then the pour is screeded to that line and nothing else. It is the least glamorous hour of the job and the one that decides how the next two decades look.

The running order

From first call to finished concrete

  1. 01

    Measure and mark

We walk the job with you, pull the tape over it, check falls and access, and hold finish samples against the house where they can be judged honestly.

  2. 02

    One number, in writing

The quote is itemised line by line to the published specification and it does not move. Any Maroondah crossover permit is flagged before you commit to a thing.

  3. 03

    Pour days

Break out if something old is coming up, the base corrected and compacted, mesh set on chairs, then the concrete. Most homes take a day or two on site.

  4. 04

    To the line

Joints sawn straight, stone finishes washed and sealed once cured, and the surface carrying cars a week after the pour.

Specification

How our concreting is built

Full specification

What the drawings call up under every surface we pour. Hold any competing quote against these four lines.

01 Preparation

The dig, the fill and the compaction get set out as carefully as the finished levels: measured, never guessed. The clay of the foothills forgives nothing less.

02 Reinforcement

Mesh specified to the load and chaired at mid-slab, where steel restrains cracking instead of resting uselessly on the ground.

03 Drainage

Every level on the sheet falls away from the house, and where the block argues, a grated drain is drawn in and formed.

04 Joints and cure

Movement gets straight lines to follow, traffic stays off for a week, and stone finishes take their sealer after cure.

Common questions

Questions we get every week

What does concreting cost in Croydon?

Off the published card: driveways $95 to $185 per m2 by finish, garage and shed slabs $110 to $150, paths $90 to $130, patios $100 to $180, with $35 per m2 on top where old concrete comes out first. Treat every rate as a guide until the block is measured; the quote written after the site measure holds.

Do I need a council permit?

Concrete inside your boundary is your business; the crossover is Maroondah’s. Building or widening one takes a vehicle crossing permit through the council’s eServices portal, with an inspection before the pour and another at completion. Whether your job triggers it is answered in writing before anything is booked.

How long does a job take?

Measures happen within days of the call. On site, most residential jobs run one to two days, and then the concrete owns the calendar: a week before cars can drive on it.

Which suburbs do you cover?

Six of them, all Maroondah: Croydon, Croydon Hills, Croydon North, Croydon South, Ringwood and Heathmont. One council’s rules learned properly beat five councils’ rules learned loosely.

Where we pour

The City of Maroondah, and only that

Six suburbs, one town hall. Maroondah's rules are the only rules we work under, and every one of these postcodes is home turf.

Croydon, Croydon Hills, Croydon North, Croydon South, Ringwood and Heathmont. City of Maroondah council.
